Pay Range: Bay Area – $151,000 to $224,000
Summary:
- Location: Oakland, CA - Hybrid
- Direct hire position
- Experience in buying construction services, not materials
- Manage a team of 5 to 6 individuals, potentially more
- Manage procurement for large construction projects, with a spend of $500M
- Experience with EPC or EPCM design build firms
- Distribution management experience from a procurement standpoint is a must
Responsibilities:
- Develop strategic portfolio and category plans to generate cost savings and optimize diversity spending
- Ensure governance of the contract approval process from creation to award
- Oversee contract spend across multiple categories in multiple lines of business (LOBs)
- Develop short and long-term strategies for all spend categories within the portfolio
- Lead complex cross-functional teams in executing strategic sourcing initiatives
- Manage spend analysis, needs assessment, benchmarking, and business case development
- Lead development and execution of negotiation strategies
- Approve purchase orders and contracts up to a million
- Monitor and maximize customer satisfaction using standardized service level agreements
- Manage continuous improvement-based relationships with suppliers
- Establish service level agreements to hold suppliers accountable for performance
- Direct reports include Portfolio Managers, Procurement Managers, and Category Leads
- Develop work processes and procedures aligning with organizational requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
- 8 years of total sourcing or related industry experience
Required Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills
- Ability to identify and resolve problems and implementation barriers
Preferred Skills:
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree
- Six Sigma, CPSM, or other related certification
- SAP/SRM proficiency
- Strategic Sourcing experience
- Project Management experience
- Utility industry experience
- Minimum 8 years of supervisor experience
