Senior Manager, Business Development
Sage Eldercare Solutions
Burlingame, CA
Role Title:
Senior Manager Referral Partnerships & Business Development
Location:
Bay Area (Hybrid; anticipate spending 75% of time in the field to meet potential partners and referral sources, generate inquiries, and convert leads into clients) - includes Alameda, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, and Santa Clara counties
About Us:
Want a meaningful career where you can make a difference in people's lives? We're on a mission to provide the best care and quality of life for older adults - and we need your energy, skills, and creativity!
At Sage Eldercare Solutions, we're setting the standard for excellence in senior care. Forget stuffy offices and rigid rules - we're a fast-paced, close-knit group who support each other and get creative to help create the best outcomes for our clients.
Since 2001, we've made it our goal to enhance quality of life through understanding clients' unique needs. Our team of nurses, social workers, and gerontologists act as advocates, counselors, and problem solvers to address physical, social, and emotional well-being. We have art, music, and recreational therapists who enrich the quality of our clients' lives. And we have care providers who bring amazing passion and attention to detail to their work along with a team of dedicated home care managers who support them and help them shine.
About the team:
Our Business Development team is the engine that connects Sage's world-class care with the families who need it most. We don't "sell" in the traditional sense; we build deep, trust-based relationships with professional referral partners—physicians, elder law attorneys, and financial advisors—who rely on us as the gold standard in the Bay Area. You will lead our dedicated team of Business Development Managers (BDMs) and report directly to the Managing Partner to scale our impact across the region. This is NOT a high volume selling role. This is a Relationship referral based role.
What you'll do:
- Team Leadership & Coaching: Lead and mentor a team of Business Development Managers, providing hands-on coaching and field support to reach a collective goal of 20% of total company revenue within 24 months.
- Portfolio Production (Player/Coach): Intentionally build and manage a portfolio of referrers who generate predictable referrals in the Bay Area, modeling for the team how to build a target list, qualify referrers, and then activate to deliver referrals.
- Operational Excellence: Enhance a repeatable "Referral Portfolio System" using HubSpot. You will define the discipline for qualification criteria, and forecast logic to ensure predictable growth.
- Strategic Partnerships: Cultivate and maintain high-level relationships with key professional referral partners (Concierge MDs, Fiduciaries, and Trusts) across the Bay Area healthcare corridor.
- CRM & Data Strategy: Refine CRM workflows, ensuring our systems accurately reflect the health of the referral pipeline and provide actionable insights.
- Revenue Forecasting: Provide the Managing Partner with clear, data-backed insights into team performance, market trends, and monthly revenue projections.
Who you are:
- The Disciplined Operator: You have 7+ years of experience in referral based sales, with a proven track record of hitting targets through systematic activity.
- The High-EQ Leader: You possess a "calm, credible presence." You know how to hold a team accountable for their numbers while maintaining the empathy and grace required in the eldercare context.
- A Trusted Advisor: Referrers look to you for guidance and problem solving expertise to help bring the best solutions and outcomes to their patients and clients.
- Professional Credibility: You are comfortable and sophisticated when speaking with high-net-worth advisors, medical professionals, and legal experts.
- CRM Savvy: You are a HubSpot power user (or similar CRM) who values data integrity and uses it to drive team behavior and strategy.
- Mission-Aligned: A genuine desire to serve families navigating complex life transitions is essential to your success here.
