Location: Irvine, CA (Onsite)
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (1‑hour lunch)
Duration: Contract role through July 2026 (estimated)
Pay Rate: $40 - $45/hour (DOE)
Employment Type: W2 Contract (Weekly Pay + Benefits)

Job Details

A well‑established Orange County litigation law firm is seeking a Senior Litigation Legal Assistant to support its Irvine office. This is a high‑level contract role ideal for an experienced legal assistant who can step in with minimal ramp‑up and provide seamless support to multiple attorneys in an active litigation practice.

This position is fully onsite and best suited for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment and is comfortable owning their desk from day one.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, revise, and finalize litigation documents including pleadings, motions, discovery, subpoenas, and correspondence
  • Coordinate and calendar depositions, expert scheduling, hearings, and court deadlines
  • Manage state and federal court e‑filings and ensure compliance with local rules
  • Maintain case matrices, chronologies, and trial preparation materials
  • Support attorneys with trial prep and deadline management
  • Work within a paperless document management environment (e.g., iManage, Worldox)
  • Provide administrative and litigation support to multiple attorneys simultaneously
  • Handle highly confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant in a law firm environment
  • Strong litigation background, preferably in construction defect and/or insurance defense
  • Demonstrated experience supporting multiple attorneys with competing deadlines
  • Proficiency with Word, Adobe, Excel, and electronic filing systems
  • Experience working in a paperless legal environment
  • Excellent organizational, time‑management, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred Experience

  • Construction defect, insurance defense, or personal injury defense litigation
  • Advanced trial preparation experience
  • Familiarity with California state and federal courts
