Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Represents public and private entity clients in litigation matters including employment and labor law.
- Manages all phases of litigation, including case assessment, discovery, law and motion practice, oral argument, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation.
- Provides legal counsel on discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and wage and hour matters under California and federal law.
- Conducts or oversees workplace investigations and prepares related findings or recommendations.
- Drafts and reviews employment-related policies, handbooks, and other compliance materials.
- Prepares and argues petitions for writs of mandate and administrative appeals.
- Provides mentorship and guidance to junior attorneys or staff as needed.
Qualifications:
- JD degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the California State Bar.
- 7+ years of experience as a practicing attorney in California.
- 3+ years handling employment law matters, including employment-related litigation and advice and counsel.
- Trial experience and experience with petitions for writ of mandate and appeals preferred.
