Job Details

Responsibilities:
  • Represents public and private entity clients in litigation matters including employment and labor law.
  • Manages all phases of litigation, including case assessment, discovery, law and motion practice, oral argument, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation.
  • Provides legal counsel on discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and wage and hour matters under California and federal law.
  • Conducts or oversees workplace investigations and prepares related findings or recommendations.
  • Drafts and reviews employment-related policies, handbooks, and other compliance materials.
  • Prepares and argues petitions for writs of mandate and administrative appeals.
  • Provides mentorship and guidance to junior attorneys or staff as needed.

Qualifications:
  • JD degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California State Bar.
  • 7+ years of experience as a practicing attorney in California.
  • 3+ years handling employment law matters, including employment-related litigation and advice and counsel.
  • Trial experience and experience with petitions for writ of mandate and appeals preferred.
