We have been retained by a leading health system in Connecticut to identify its next Senior Level Executive / Operating Officer. This key organizational leader will drive operational excellence, support strategic growth initiatives, and ensure the highest standards of patient care across the system.
The ideal candidate is a dynamic, relationship-oriented executive with deep operational expertise and a strong understanding of the healthcare industry. They will embody the values of integrity, accountability, and respect in every aspect of their leadership.
Core Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership: Oversee and optimize operations across Operations, Facilities Management (including EVS, Dietary, and Security), Ambulatory Services, and Service Lines.
- Strategic Execution: Translate organizational goals into actionable plans, ensuring measurable outcomes and sustainable growth.
- Physician & Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with physicians, physician leaders, and key stakeholders involved in PSAs, MSAs, and other partnership agreements.
- Crisis Management: Serve as the go-to leader during organizational challengesdemonstrating responsiveness, decisiveness, and commitment, including onsite presence when needed.
- Visionary Leadership: Ability to inspire, motivate, and cultivate a positive, inclusive culture.
- Change Agility: Adapt quickly to evolving healthcare trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements.
- Influence & Impact: Demonstrated ability to lead transformative initiativesexamples may include hospital openings, service line launches, ambulatory growth, IT implementations (Epic, Oracle), and emergency response leadership.
- Passion & Commitment: Fully invested in the mission and values of the organization, with a clear sense of purpose as a healthcare leader.
- Comfortable engaging with the Board of Directors, providing strategic insights, and fostering trust.
- Prior board experience preferred; ability to represent the organization effectively at the governance level.

Education & Experience:
- Masters degree in Finance (MBA) or Healthcare Administration (MHA) or with a healthcare focus required.
- Minimum 10 years in senior leadership roles within large, complex healthcare organizations.
- Proven success in managing multi-faceted healthcare operations, including revenue cycle, quality management, patient care coordination, and IT systems.
