Senior Java (Backend) Developer
6 month+ Contract
100% Remote
JOB SUMMARY:
Sr. JAVA Developers are responsible for the development, programming, and coding of Information Technology solutions. Senior IT Developers are responsible for documenting detailed system specifications, participation in unit testing and maintenance of planned and unplanned internally developed applications, evaluation and performance testing of purchased products. Senior IT Developers are responsible for including IT Controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity, as well as availability of the application and data processed or output by the application. Senior IT Developers lead efforts, oversee work results, provide training and serve as a technical resource for other Developers.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Experience with unit testing, release procedures, coding design and documentation protocol as well as change management procedures
• Proficiency using versioning tools: GIT, GNU, RCS, SCCS, CVS, SVN, Mercurial, Monotone, etc
• Demonstrated organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills
• Flexible team player
• Ability to manage tasks independently and take ownership of responsibilities
• Ability to learn from mistakes and apply constructive feedback to improve performance
• Must demonstrate initiative and effective independent decision-making skills
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly and articulately
• Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
• In-depth understanding of the systems development life cycle
• 5+ years professional backend development experience in enterprise Java applications
• Strong proficiency in Java 17+ with modern language features and best practices
• Spring Boot 3.x expertise (REST APIs, dependency injection, configuration management)
• Spring Framework experience (Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, Spring AOP)
• Microservices architecture design and implementation patterns
• RESTful API design with OpenAPI/Swagger documentation and versioning
• Database experience with SQL Server, DB2, and Oracle (JDBC, JPA, Hibernate)
• JWT authentication and Spring Security implementation
• Gradle build tool proficiency and dependency management
• Experience with SOAP web services (Spring WS, JAXB, XML processing)
• Document processing libraries (Apache POI for Excel, Aspose Words/PDF)
• Maven/Artifactory repository management and artifact publishing
• Docker containerization and OpenShift/Kubernetes deployment
• CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and automated testing
• Unit testing with JUnit and integration testing frameworks
• Strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns and service proxying
• Logging frameworks (Logback, Log4j, Logstash) and structured logging
• Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills in distributed systems
• AI Programming experience required: Meta (LLM Models), Python: Data manipulation, analysis, and processing
• Exposure to AI Technologies and be able to utilize and apply
