Senior Interior Designer needed for luxury residential interior design firm based in the Philadelphia suburbs. The work exemplifies a commitment to bespoke design and expert knowledge of full home projects. Please have luxury residential experience in the United States as well as a degree in interior design or architecture if you consider applying.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 years of current experience in high-end residential interior design, be self-motivated and have a knowledge of luxury furnishings and fabrics, bath and kitchen designs along with technical skills. We have a friendly, upbeat and professional office culture and we are looking for a positive, upbeat addition to our team for this in-office, full-time position.
Responsibilities:
- You will be participating in many phases of the design process including (but not limited to) schematic design, detailed CAD work, space planning and client meetings.
-Must be focused on detail and accuracy.
-Must be experienced and capable of managing projects independently and proactive in starting and managing workload.
- You will generate finish plans, cost lists and visual compilations of selections and palettes.
- You will communicate with clients, external consultants, contractors and product representatives in relation to different project needs, so excellent communication skills are a must.
- You will visit showrooms and design centers in relation to project needs.
- Generating technical documentation for manufacturers and artisans, reviewing shop drawings and sketches
- Managing and following up on progress of work throughout all phases of design, fabrication, and construction
Hard Requirements:
- Bachelor or Master's degree in Interior Design or architecture.
- 6 years or more of active, current, professional interior design experience in high-end Residential Interior Design
- Full working knowledge of AutoCAD, PowerPoint, Excel and Word
- Knowledge of Sketchup [or similar program]
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Ability to create professional visual presentations
- Strong work ethic
- Comfortable dealing with luxury clientele
- Capable of working at a steady pace on multiple projects within a team environment
- Experience working with contractors, particularly on job sites, efficiently solving challenges on the spot
- Proficiency at sourcing items online and in showrooms
- Car and valid driver’s license required
- Currently living in the US / US citizen
