Unlike traditional insurance defense environments where attorneys are narrowly assigned tasks, attorneys in this role are trusted to own their cases from inception through resolution. You will work directly with experienced litigators, contribute to litigation strategy, and play a meaningful role in achieving successful outcomes for clients.

Job Details

Responsibilities:
  • Manage a California civil defense caseload from inception through resolution
  • Handle depositions, discovery, motion practice, and case strategy
  • Draft pleadings, dispositive motions, and legal memoranda
  • Prepare witnesses and participate in hearings, mediations, and negotiations
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients and internal teams
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on litigation strategy and trial preparation

Qualifications:
  • 3–8 years of civil litigation or insurance defense experience
  • Active California Bar license required
  • Experience handling depositions, discovery, and motion practice
  • Ability to independently manage files while collaborating with leadership
  • Strong legal writing, analytical, and communication skills
  • Comfort working in a remote, accountability-driven environment

Compensation & Work Structure:
  • Salary range: $165,000- $210,000 depending on experience
  • Billable expectation: ~1850–1900 hours annually
  • Performance-based bonuses and compensation growth
