Senior Healthcare Regulatory Counsel

Overview
We are a healthcare-focused business law firm advising providers, operators, investors, and growth-stage healthcare companies nationwide. We are seeking a senior healthcare attorney to serve as our internal regulatory authority and a trusted advisor to sophisticated healthcare clients.
This role is ideal for an experienced healthcare lawyer who enjoys hands-on advisory work, complex regulatory analysis, and working directly with founders and executives to structure compliant, scalable healthcare businesses.
Key Responsibilities
Healthcare Regulatory & Compliance
· Advise healthcare providers, suppliers, and management companies on federal and state regulatory compliance
· Counsel clients on Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, CMS regulations, and related enforcement risks
· Design and review compliance programs, policies, and operational workflows
· Provide practical, business-oriented regulatory guidance (not purely academic analysis)
Investigations & Enforcement
· Use experience with leading the response to government investigations, audits, and enforcement actions to conduct internal investigations and risk assessment
· Help clients mitigate exposure and resolve regulatory disputes efficiently
Transactional & Structuring Support
· Advise on healthcare M&A, joint ventures, MSO structures, and strategic partnerships
· Identify regulatory risk in transactions and propose compliant alternatives
· Support private equity-backed healthcare platforms and roll-ups
Client Advisory & Firm Leadership
· Serve as a senior client-facing advisor with autonomy and authority
· Collaborate with corporate, employment, and litigation teams
· Contribute to internal knowledge development and mentorship of junior attorneys
· Participate in business development and client education initiatives
Qualifications
Required
· J.D. from an accredited law school
· 5–10+ years of healthcare law experience
· Significant experience advising healthcare providers and operators
· Strong working knowledge of federal healthcare regulatory frameworks
· Experience with investigations, audits, or enforcement matters
· Ability to communicate complex regulatory concepts to non-lawyers
· Ability to translate regulatory risk into business decisions
Strongly Preferred
· Prior AmLaw or leading healthcare boutique experience
· In-house healthcare or compliance leadership experience
· Healthcare transactional experience (M&A, MSOs, JVs)
· Experience working with private equity-backed healthcare companies
