Job Details
The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for overseeing core accounting and financial planning activities for the organization. This includes managing the monthly close process, supporting treasury and cash management functions, preparing financial reports, and maintaining financial systems. This role analyzes financial performance and delivers actionable insights to support strategic decision-making and operational improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyze and evaluate business processes, recommending improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Develop and analyze weekly and monthly KPIs, dashboards, and performance reports.
- Support rolling forecast updates by revising assumptions and reviewing actual results against projections.
- Assist with cash forecasting, budgeting, financial covenant reporting, and recurring financial reports.
- Partner with revenue-generating teams to review new and existing business opportunities, including financial modeling, pro forma development, and performance analysis (e.g., IRR, payback period, margin analysis).
- Own and manage financial models to support internal approval processes for investment opportunities.
- Leverage technology to improve financial planning and analysis processes and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure efficient workflows.
- Evaluate potential projects and market changes, assessing impacts on budgets and forecasts.
- Support training initiatives to enhance team effectiveness and financial acumen.
- Collaborate across departments to build strong working relationships and drive accountability and results.
- Assist with special projects and maintain internal controls related to assigned responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- 4–6 years of relevant professional experience required.
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred; public accounting experience strongly desired.
- Experience with ERP and financial planning systems preferred; advanced Excel skills required.
- Industry experience in asset-intensive, regulated, or technology-driven environments preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated financial analysis expertise with strong attention to detail and organization.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and solve complex problems effectively.
