Job Summary:
The Senior Engineering Operations Manager will oversee data center operations and lead a team of union employees to ensure facility reliability, safety, and operational excellence. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical knowledge of UPS and critical cooling systems, and the ability to manage vendors, schedules, and building operations in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct daily building walks to assess facility conditions
Review and assign service tickets
Oversee preventative maintenance (PMs)
Manage vendors and service providers
Manage schedules and payroll
Provide direct employee management and leadership to seven CWA Union employees
Support emergency on-call situations as needed
Interact with clients within a data center environment
Required Experience:
5–8 years of relevant engineering or operations experience
Experience working in a data center environment
Strong people management experience
Nice-to-Have Experience:
Project management experience
Experience supporting IT-related infrastructure
Required Skills:
People management
Data center operations experience
Basic knowledge of UPS and critical cooling systems
