Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design, analysis, and optimization of electrical systems supporting large‑scale industrial infrastructure. This role focuses on power distribution, high‑voltage equipment, electrical safety, and system reliability across facilities such as compressor stations, pipelines, storage sites, or similar industrial environments.
You will serve as a technical leader, guiding engineering decisions, ensuring compliance with electrical codes and safety standards, and supporting projects from concept through commissioning. This position requires strong analytical skills, hands‑on experience with industrial electrical systems, and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
The role begins onsite in Pittsburgh, PA, with an expected relocation to either Tulsa, OK or Houston, TX after approximately two years, based on business needs. Candidates must be willing and able to relocate as part of the role.

Requirements:
Electrical System Design & Analysis
- Lead the design and optimization of power distribution systems for industrial facilities.
- Develop electrical schematics, system layouts, and specifications for new installations and upgrades.
- Perform power system modeling and analysis using tools such as ETAP, PSCAD, MATLAB, or Simulink.
- Evaluate and integrate advanced technologies including automation, real‑time monitoring, and energy storage systems.
Safety, Compliance & Reliability
- Conduct and review arc flash studies; implement mitigation strategies to ensure personnel and equipment safety.
- Ensure compliance with NEC, NEMA, API, IEEE, and other applicable electrical design and safety standards.
- Support fault detection, protection coordination, and system reliability improvements.
Project Leadership
- Manage complex engineering projects from concept through commissioning, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and budget.
- Oversee procurement of electrical equipment and materials; collaborate with vendors and suppliers.
- Support commissioning, testing, FAT, and startup activities to verify system performance and compliance.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with operations, construction, mechanical, and instrumentation teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications/Must-Haves:
- Ability to travel up to 50%.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Ability to mentor and support junior engineers.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead engineering tasks independently.
- Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
- Willingness to relocate after approximately two years.
- Effective communication with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Strong experience with: Power distribution system design, High‑voltage equipment (transformers, generators, switchgear), Arc flash analysis and electrical safety compliance and NEC, NEMA, API, IEEE standards.
- Proficiency with power system modeling tools (ETAP, PSCAD, MATLAB, Simulink)
- Minimum 8 years of engineering experience in natural gas, data centers, industrial power systems, or related infrastructure.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution OR Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology from an ABET‑accredited institution with a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Preferred Skills:
- Project management experience.
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience with PLCs, HMIs, and instrumentation systems.
- Experience supporting commissioning, FAT, and startup activities.
- Background in Pre‑FEED, FEED, or EPC project environments.
