As a Senior FPGA Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for:

FPGA Design & Architecture

  • Analyze system requirements and architect FPGA-based digital processing solutions.

  • Implement complex modem and DSP algorithms in FPGA or ASIC environments.

  • Develop RTL designs using VHDL (or Verilog).

  • Integrate FPGA firmware onto hardware platforms.

Verification & Validation

  • Develop self-checking test benches using SystemVerilog.

  • Create detailed verification plans aligned with system specifications.

  • Perform design validation, trade studies, and performance analysis.

  • Support integration, test, and system-level verification activities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to refine requirements and implement solutions.

  • Present technical reviews and status briefings to internal stakeholders.

  • Support lifecycle phases including design, test, operation, and sustainment.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent experience).

  • Minimum 7+ years of FPGA or ASIC development experience in embedded systems.

  • Strong experience with RTL development using VHDL or Verilog.

  • Experience with FPGA verification methodologies using SystemVerilog.

  • Experience implementing and verifying complex digital signal processing or modem-based systems.

  • Familiarity with vendor-specific FPGA implementation tools (e.g., Vivado, Quartus, Libero).

  • Experience working in Linux-based development environments.

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with DSP modeling tools such as MATLAB or Simulink.

  • Knowledge of communication system signal processing theory and waveform design.

  • Experience with scripting languages such as TCL or Python.

  • Familiarity with UVM and FPGA verification tools (e.g., Questa).

  • Experience in RF modem design and testing environments.

  • Active U.S. security clearance.

  • Experience with source control tools such as Git or SVN.

Support for Your Career and Life

  • Alternative 9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off)
