Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Project Engineer to serve as a technical linchpin for our Chicago operations. In this role, you will do more than manage circuits; you will steer high-stakes projects from conceptual infancy to final commissioning, ensuring that every innovation is grounded in technical excellence and regulatory precision. Core Responsibilities
System Architecture & Innovation: Lead the design and development of sophisticated electrical systems, ensuring all designs align with project-specific goals and global industry best practices.
Technical Stewardship: Produce and oversee construction-ready electrical documentation, drawings, and specifications that navigate complex permitting and regulatory landscapes with ease.
Multidisciplinary Integration: Act as the primary electrical point of contact, collaborating seamlessly with architects, clients, and internal engineering disciplines to deliver unified, high-performance solutions.
Project Lifecycle Management: Steer project timelines, budgets, and quality benchmarks, utilizing proactive problem-solving to optimize system performance and project delivery.
Mentorship & Leadership: Cultivate a culture of excellence by guiding junior engineers and CAD/BIM designers, sharing technical wisdom to elevate the team’s collective capabilities.
Compliance & Quality Assurance: Perform rigorous technical reviews and code analysis (NEC, IBC, Chicago Electrical Code) to ensure every deliverable exceeds safety and performance standards.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an ABET-accredited institution.
Experience: 6+ years of progressive experience in electrical design and construction within the AEC industry.
Software Proficiency: Expert-level command of AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
Technical Expertise: Deep working knowledge of building codes, power distribution, lighting design, and emergency systems.
Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead project teams and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Licensure: Active Professional Engineer (PE) license or EIT on a fast track to licensure.
Sector Expertise: Experience with large-scale industrial, high-rise commercial, or healthcare facilities.
Advanced Tools: Familiarity with electrical modeling software such as SKM PowerTools or ETAP.
Sustainability: LEED AP accreditation or experience with sustainable/renewable energy integration.
