In this advanced technical leadership role, you will be at the forefront of designing and developing cutting-edge electrical and control systems for both mobile and stationary volumetric mixing machines. This role encompasses both hardware and software components, overseeing low and high-voltage systems (DC and AC), embedded systems, and PLC-based controls with a focus on safety-critical applications.
You will guide the strategic direction of electrical and control engineering, lead system architecture decisions, and ensure adherence to industry standards such as ISO, ASTM, CE, NEC, and UL 508A. Providing mentorship to team members and cross-functional teams is essential, as well as driving product innovation and continuous improvement.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Direct the design and execution of electrical and control solutions for industrial machinery, including drawings, panel designs, wiring schematics, and system architectures.
- Engineer power distribution systems, including 12VDC and up to 575VAC three-phase systems.
- Develop and review detailed electrical specifications to ensure compliance and alignment with customer needs.
- Create control system software, primarily using CoDeSys, for automation, diagnostics, and safety functions.
- Use design software for engineering tasks, ensuring precision and functionality.
- Conduct complex calculations for setting manufacturing and installation standards.
- Prepare cost estimates and budgets for equipment installation or modifications.
- Validate new system designs through rigorous testing protocols.
- Document performance data and improvement strategies through analysis reports.
- Manage ERP system documentation of parts and Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Oversee UL 508A certification compliance and associated audits.
- Mentor and support technical staff and cross-department collaboration for optimal product outcomes.
- Establish and uphold best practices in electrical system design company-wide.
- Champion new product development from inception to launch, focusing on validation and manufacturability.
- Select components and suppliers to meet cost-effective, performance-driven objectives.
- Troubleshoot and address technical challenges in production and field environments.
- Provide expert support to field teams on troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Perform additional duties as requirements evolve.
**Qualifications Needed:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Controls Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of electrical and control principles.
- Familiarity with mechanical and hydraulic systems.
- Proven record in creating control systems for industrial or mobile machinery.
- Expertise in AC system design.
- Skilled in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Microsoft Office.
- Experience in CoDeSys and GUI development for control systems.
