Job Details
This role is a hands-on Senior DevOps position managing infrastructure, including cloud and IoT systems. You will design, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable systems while developing monitoring and automation tools, mentoring teammates, and driving modernization projects.
Location: Manhattan, NY – walking distance to Penn Station and Madison Square Garden. 4 days on site
Responsibilities:
· Design, build, and maintain hybrid cloud and on-premise IoT infrastructure for reliability, security, and scalability
· Lead modernization projects from design through production deployment
· Develop tools for deployment, management, and monitoring of backend systems and IoT devices
· Implement secure device-to-cloud connectivity and networking solutions
· Troubleshoot and optimize large-scale distributed systems and production environments
· Develop automation using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, CDK, or similar)
· Build and maintain scripts/tools in Python (or Java as relevant) for infrastructure tasks
· Enhance observability and monitoring using custom or off-the-shelf solutions
· Mentor team members on best practices for DevOps, cloud, and system design
· Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, product, and R&D teams
Qualifications
· 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering
· Strong Linux systems and networking expertise (firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, Docker)
· Proven experience with AWS cloud services and hybrid (cloud + on-prem) infrastructure
· Skilled in Python and/or Java for automation and infrastructure tasks
· Experience managing IoT devices or backend systems at scale
· Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, CDK)
