POSITION TITLE: Senior Designer
POSITION DUTIES:
• 25% Independently develop architectural design options for specific portions of projects
• 5% Utilize visualization programs to produce client-ready presentation materials.
• 10% Assume primary responsibility for BIM documentation of selected portions of projects.
• 5% Initiate and develop materials concepts and presentation pallets for review by client.
• 15% Produce multiple design concepts that meet client requirements and help guide client decision-making for the most
desirable outcomes.
• 15% Guide design team members to produce and present multiple design concepts for client review and decision-making.
• 5% Use knowledge of construction codes and client requirements to make appropriate choices in compliance with
applicable codes and regulations.
• 5% Participate in recommendation of appropriate architectural design strategies, review multiple options and help guide
client decision-making.
• 5% Use internal and external analysis tools to generate appropriate options for client review and decision-making.
• 10% Help develop planning and analysis documentation for client review and decision-making on budget and cost issues.
May telecommute up to 1 day per week.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Architectural Design, Adaptive Reuse, or a related field, or the foreign degree equivalent and 3 years of experience performing architectural design. Experience must include 3 years in each of the following:
• Applying principles of architectural design, building material selection, construction methods, integration of engineering
disciplines, and building costs and codes;
• Incorporating sustainable design strategies for built projects;
• Using Design Bid Build Project Delivery method;
• Creating architectural designs and plans and coordinating production of project drawings and models utilizing Revit;
• Developing 2-D and 3-D computer modeling concepts, using BIM, 3D Max, Rhinoceros/Grasshopper, Revit, Navisworks,
and AutoCAD;
• Researching products, detailing, and other materials for use in design;
• Designing to local code requirements;
• Performing code research and developing supporting code documents, including code plans and summaries.
Experience and education can be gained concurrently. Experience may include internship experience gained as part of academic studies.
SALARY: The annual base pay range for this role is $84,739 – $85,000. Actual compensation within this range for successful candidates will be carefully determined based on a number of factors, including their skills, qualifications and experience. LOCATION OF EMPLOYMENT: 40 hours/week in Seattle, WA. May telecommute up to 1 day per week.
