NYC Alliance Company LLC is seeking a highly creative and strategic Senior Designer, Men's to lead the design and development of innovative, trend-driven men’s collections. This role requires a strong design vision, deep fabric knowledge, and the ability to execute across multiple distribution tiers—from value-driven retail to department stores and specialty boutiques.
The ideal candidate is both visionary and hands-on, with the ability to translate trend insights into commercially successful product.
• Lead the design and development of seasonal men’s collections aligned with brand strategy and customer targets
• Drive concept development, trend research, color direction, fabric/yarn selection, and silhouette innovation
• Translate market research and competitive analysis into commercially viable product assortments
• Design across multiple distribution channels, ensuring appropriate execution for value market, mid-tier, and better retailers
• Create detailed technical sketches, tech packs, and spec sheets to support accurate production execution
• Oversee fittings, provide construction guidance, and ensure superior fit and quality standards
• Partner cross-functionally with Product Development, Production, Sales, and Merchandising to meet margin, timeline, and quality goals
• Communicate directly with mills, suppliers, and overseas factories to ensure fabric integrity, cost efficiency, and on-time delivery
• Mentor and support junior designers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment
• Maintain strong knowledge of fabrications, yarns, wash techniques, trims, and garment construction processes
Requirements
• 5+ years of experience in men’s apparel design, with demonstrated ownership of categories or seasonal collections
• Strong portfolio showcasing trend-forward yet commercially successful product
• Deep understanding of fabric construction, sourcing, and performance attributes
• Proven experience designing for multiple retail tiers (value, department store, specialty/boutique)
• Proficiency in PLM systems, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office
• Strong technical knowledge of garment construction, fit development, and manufacturing processes
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple seasons and deadlines simultaneously
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Detail-oriented with the ability to balance creativity and business objectives
