Join our esteemed Military Aircraft Group, renowned for delivering customer-focused technologies and customized solutions in the Special Mission, Military & Defense, Military Trainer, Business, and General Aviation industries. We are seeking a skilled professional to contribute to our dynamic team.
This is a 3-month position with the potential to be extended to 6 months, offering a Monday to Thursday schedule from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The role is based onsite at our Avionics business unit located in Mineral Wells, TX, a place known for its rich history and welcoming community.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed 2D and 3D engineering drawings and CAD models in SolidWorks to support wiring diagrams, schematics, and part, assembly, and installation drawings.
- Ensure compliance with aerospace drawing and quality standards, including AS9100 and ASME Y14.5 (GD&T).
- Maintain aerospace regulatory requirements within design data.
- Manage drawing templates, title blocks, and other CAD project tools.
- Collaborate closely with engineers to clarify design intent and resolve fit/form/function issues.
- Create and maintain revision-controlled drawing packages in a PDM/PLM system.
- Support BOM creation and parts lists, including standard parts and vendor-sourced hardware.
- Participate in design reviews and support certification activities to minimize rework and non-conformances.
- Ensure timely completion of assigned projects and deliverables.
Qualifications
- Ten or more years of related design experience with a minimum of a two-year degree in drafting, CAD technology, electrical or mechanical engineering/engineering technology, or similar field.
- Ability to work independently with minimal technical input and develop incomplete requirements into full design packages.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, drafting standards, and manufacturing processes.
- Strong understanding of aerospace design standards and regulatory requirements.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
- Excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
Preferred Experience
- Vendor coordination for dimensional and functional specifications.
- Presenting design results and substantiating assumptions, constraints, and analyses.
