Job Title: Senior Database Administrator (DBA)

Job Summary:

Seeking a Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to perform advanced database administration tasks for enterprise applications with complex data models, workflows, and reporting requirements. The role focuses on database optimization, cloud migration, performance tuning, and integration with modern cloud platforms within an Agile (Scrum) environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain database systems ensuring high availability and performance
• Monitor database performance and implement optimization strategies
• Perform database design, data modeling (logical and physical), and prototyping
• Manage database security, integrity, and access controls
• Execute backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures
• Develop and maintain database documentation, standards, and data dictionaries
• Support database migration initiatives, including on-prem to cloud transitions
• Implement and manage data replication solutions (e.g., GoldenGate)
• Create and maintain test environments for development and QA teams
• Collaborate with developers, analysts, and stakeholders to enhance database solutions
• Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, ensuring minimal downtime
• Ensure compliance with accessibility standards and support related user needs
• Participate in Agile development processes and contribute to system design decisions

Technical Environment:

• Oracle Database, Microsoft SQL Server
• Cloud Platforms (Azure / AWS)
• Data replication and migration tools
• ETL processes and data integration tools
• Reporting and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI)
• DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field
• Strong experience in database administration and system design
• Expertise in database performance tuning and optimization
• Experience working in Agile (Scrum) environments
• Strong understanding of multi-tier and distributed application architectures

Minimum & Preferred Skills:

Required:

• 10+ years of experience in database administration
• 8+ years of experience with Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server
• 8+ years of experience in database design, analysis, and performance tuning
• 8+ years of experience designing enterprise applications/services
• 8+ years of experience creating technical and functional design documentation
• 8+ years of experience working within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) using Agile methodology (e.g., Scrum)
• 8+ years of experience with multi-tier application architectures (SOA, Microservices, 3-tier systems)

Preferred:

• 6+ years of experience with ETL processes and data integration into Azure SQL
• 4+ years of experience with large-scale databases, high availability, and disaster recovery
• 4+ years of experience adapting database structures for cloud environments (Azure preferred)
• 3+ years of experience with Power BI (environment setup and report development)
• 3+ years of experience with DevOps tools (CI/CD pipelines, Git, build & deployment tools)
• 2+ years of experience migrating on-premises databases to cloud environments (Azure preferred)
• Azure certifications (preferred)
• DBA-related certifications (preferred)
