Title: Senior Data Analyst

Duration: 6 Months

Location: Springfield, IL

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, with 7.5 hours per day.

Only W2 candidates are eligible for this position. Third-party or C2C candidates will not be considered.

Position Overview

  • Data analysis initiatives supporting the State Administrative Hearings division. The role focuses on extracting, analyzing, interpreting, and modeling case-related data to support operational planning, compliance oversight, and strategic decision-making.
  • This position requires strong hands-on experience with SQL and Power BI, along with experience supporting data conversion or system modernization efforts within complex, regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Extract, analyze, and interpret administrative hearings and case-related data using SQL or similar querying tools
  • Utilize Power BI for structured data analysis, modeling, and executive reporting support (not dashboard-focused)
  • Support or contribute to data conversion and system migration initiatives, including data mapping, reconciliation, and validation
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance across hearings-related datasets
  • Work with ETL processes to enable accurate data transformation and integration
  • Identify trends and operational patterns related to caseloads, timelines, and hearing outcomes
  • Provide analytical findings and actionable recommendations to executive leadership
  • Collaborate with Information Systems and program stakeholders to define data requirements and improve data processes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in data analysis
  • Experience working with State or public-sector data systems (Preferred)
  • Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction and analysis
  • Experience using Power BI for data analysis and modeling
  • Solid understanding of ETL processes and data transformation principles
  • Experience performing data validation, reconciliation, and quality control
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated leadership or project coordination experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on State government data conversion or system migration projects
  • Experience working with legacy or mainframe-based data environments
  • Familiarity with DB2 and QMF
  • Proficiency in Python for data analysis or automation (a plus)
