Job Details

We are seeking a Senior Attorney with civil litigation defense experience to join our office in Fresno.

This is an exciting opportunity with a growing firm to take on a leadership role and help shape the future of the firm.

**We will consider Remote candidates (located and licensed in CA) who have proven success working remotely**

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a full case load of pre-litigation and active litigation cases.
  • Draft pleadings, discovery, discovery motions, dispositive motions, and trial preparation documents.
  • Collaborate with attorneys to prepare for meetings, depositions, and negotiations.
  • Conduct legal research to advise clients of the merits of their claims and those asserted against them.
  • Negotiate with clients, opposing counsel, and other interested parties to resolve legal disputes and achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Offer guidance and support to junior associates, contributing to their professional growth and development.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active member of the State Bar of California, and in good standing
  • 4+ years of experience practicing law, with a focus on civil litigation (insurance defense a plus)
  • Proficiency in legal research software, including Westlaw, and a willingness to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field
  • Experience managing junior associates and a desire to take on a leadership role
  • Experience in taking depositions, drafting and arguing motions and legal research
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Trial experience not required, but is a plus
