We have an immediate opening for an experienced Senior Construction Manager to join our team in our Austin, TX location.

Requirements:

  • Must have experience as a Manager on small to large interstate construction projects:  $30M to $300M range
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering required
  • Must be a registered PE (TX) and/or a certified CCM
  • Must have Construction Scheduling experience using Primavera P6. Certification as a Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP) is a plus.
  • Experience with various DOT construction software and project controls software- e.g. TXDOT Inspection and Materials Management System (I2MS), ProjectWise, SharePoint, Primavera Unifier, Autodesk Build, SiteManager, etc.
  • Excellent Communication Skills required for establishing and maintaining relationships with clients
  • Demonstrated Experience providing Construction Management Services to transportation agencies for large, complex construction contracts.
  • Demonstrated Experience as a Fulltime Project/Construction Manager/Area Construction Manager including the following:
    • On-Site Construction Management & Supervision of field personnel including Resident Engineers and Construction Inspectors
    • Familiarity with local construction software applications
    • Contract Change Order & Claims Negotiations
    • Client Relationship Maintenance
    • Construction Management and Inspection (CMI) Team Building & Training
    • Partnering & Negotiating Expertise
  • Excellent Technical Writing Skills required for preparing:
    • Client Communication between Client and Contractor
    • Change Order analyses, rebuttals, approvals, and technical write-ups/independent cost estimates (IGE)
    • Monthly progress updates to Client/Owner
    • Construction Schedule Updates
    • Quality Control/Quality Assurance Updates
    • Construction Budget Reports
    • Technical Proposals & Interviews
    • Design and Design Change Coordination
    • Meeting Agendas and Minutes

Physical Requirements (Essential Functions):

This position requires the ability to perform a variety of physical tasks in the field as part of the essential job functions. Duties may include:

  • Walking and navigating across rough or uneven terrain such as mud, rocks, grass, dirt, steep hillsides, heavily wooded areas, and other unpaved surfaces
  • Moving around active project sites, which may involve climbing ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, or poles
  • Performing physical activities such as bending, twisting, kneeling, and climbing
  • Remaining in a stationary position—either standing or sitting—for extended periods of time
  • Repetitive motions involving the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  • Lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds and/or carting objects up to 50 lbs distances up to 25 yards. 
  • Driving to and from project sites which may involve distances of up to or exceeding 200 miles round trip.
  • Must be able to function safely in an environment with potential risks, including, but not limited to those described in this document. 
  • Must be willing to work nights and overtime, when required by the project assignment

The work environment may include exposure to a range of environmental conditions, including high and low temperatures, precipitation, and other outdoor elements. Work may also be performed in noisy conditions or confined/enclosed spaces.
