The Role: We are seeking a strategic and experienced Senior Construction Manager to support our Construction Management Team in San Diego.

In this role, you will lead high-impact public works projects including bridges, highways, water facilities, parks, open space, and coastal infrastructure. You will serve as the primary owner representative, overseeing complex construction programs involving civil, mechanical, electrical, and structural components while ensuring alignment with approved plans, budgets, and schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as primary owner representative overseeing and coordinating daily construction management activities
  • Monitor construction to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, budget, and schedule
  • Resolve construction issues and lead interactions with clients, designers, contractors, and regulatory agencies
  • Oversee field construction, contract administration, and manage staff and subcontractors
  • Review schedules, document project progress, respond to claims, and manage RFIs, submittals, and change orders
  • Facilitate project success by resolving issues fairly, effectively, and proactively

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline
  • 15+ years of experience managing construction or engineering for public works projects
  • Active California Professional Engineering (PE) License
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes and ability to interpret plans, drawings, and specifications
  • Demonstrated success developing and maintaining strong client relationships

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary: $175,000 - $205,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
  • Compensation is dependent on experience, education, and other factors of candidate and is not a promise of any specific pay for any specific employee.
  • Incentives: Discretionary bonus and recognition programs
  • Time Off: 3-4 weeks PTO plus 8 paid holidays (depending on experience)
