Position Overview
Excelraise, LLC is seeking a highly experienced Cisco Security Engineer to support a critical enterprise environment for the State of South Carolina. This role is focused on the deployment, administration, and optimization of high-end security gateways and data center networking products.
The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert in Check Point (including VSX) and Cisco security infrastructure. You will be responsible for simplifying complex rulebases, improving visibility, and ensuring all configurations align with federal and state security best practices.
Core Responsibilities
- Firewall Administration: Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot Check Point security gateways, Cisco Secure Firewalls, and Cisco ASA.
- VSX Management: Extensive administration and deployment of Check Point VSX within a complex enterprise architecture.
- Rulebase Optimization: Analyze and simplify the Check Point rulebase to meet business requirements while maximizing performance and security visibility.
- Data Center Networking: Deploy and administer Cisco data center networking products to support security requirements.
- Security Best Practices: Ensure all implementations follow industry-leading security standards and the agency's specific compliance mandates.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Check Point Expertise: 10+ years of experience deploying and administering Check Point security gateways.
- Cisco Infrastructure: 10+ years of experience deploying and administering Cisco data center networking products.
- Advanced Check Point: 5+ years of experience specifically with Check Point VSX.
- Current Tech Stack: Hands-on experience administering and operating Check Point r82.
- Certifications: Previous or current Check Point (CCSE/CCSM) and/or Cisco (CCNP/CCIE Security) certifications.
- Residency:Must be a CURRENT South Carolina resident. (No relocation allowed).
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
- Experience with Cisco FirePower deployment and administration.
- Experience managing Cisco Remote Access VPN solutions.
