QUALIFICATIONS

Required Skills & Credentials

  • Bachelor’s Degree in civil, structural, architectural engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of plan check and/or structural design experience
  • Licensed in California as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Structural Engineer (S.E.)
  • Experience as a Building Plan Check Engineer or equivalent
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional interpersonal and “people” skills
  • Proficiency with:
  • E-plan check systems
  • General office and document management tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • I.C.C. Plans Examiner certification (highly desirable, not required)
  • Government agency plan review experience
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform comprehensive building plan reviews for code compliance
  • Prepare written plan reviewcomments for initial and recheck submittals
  • Review and evaluate design team responses
  • Communicate professionally with:
  • Design professionals
  • Applicants
  • Owners
  • Agency representatives
  • Participate in the plan review process from start to finish
  • Maintain strong documentation and review consistency
