Senior Aviation Architect / Designer

Position Overview
A nationally recognized architecture and engineering firm is seeking a highly experienced Senior Aviation Architect / Designer with strong technical expertise and leadership experience in aviation-related projects.
This role requires an individual capable of leading complex airport and aviation facility projects through all phases of design, documentation, and construction administration. The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of aviation standards, regulatory coordination, and large-scale project delivery within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead planning, design, and documentation for aviation and airport-related facilities.
- Oversee project development from concept through construction administration.
- Coordinate with aviation authorities, consultants, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior staff.
- Ensure compliance with applicable aviation regulations, codes, and client standards.
- Participate in client presentations and stakeholder meetings.
- Maintain design quality, schedule adherence, and budget awareness.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Architecture from an accredited university.
- Licensed Architect (or ability to obtain licensure).
- 10+ years of professional experience, with significant aviation project experience.
- Demonstrated experience with airport terminals, airside/landside facilities, or related aviation infrastructure.
- Strong proficiency in Revit and construction documentation processes.
- Comprehensive knowledge of building codes and aviation-specific regulations.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent project responsibilities.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience coordinating with aviation authorities and regulatory agencies.
- Experience on large-scale, complex public-sector projects.
- LEED accreditation or sustainable design experience is a plus.
