The Role

The Senior Accountant will play a key hands‑on role in day‑to‑day accounting operations for a mission‑driven organization that functions as a pass‑through entity on behalf of its members.
This position offers meaningful responsibility without excessive hours, allowing you to focus on accuracy, consistency, and collaboration in a well‑structured environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the general ledger and support the month‑end close
  • Prepare, post, and review journal entries
  • Review and approve billing and accounts payable
  • Assist as the primary audit support liaison
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal controls

What They’re Looking For

  • Ideally 8–10+ years of accounting experience
  • Experience owning the GL and close process
  • Comfortable reviewing work and maintaining high standards
  • Audit support experience
  • GASB experience is a strong plus
