A growing, forward-thinking organization in the Houston, PA area is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its finance team. This hands-on role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a deadline-driven environment and takes pride in maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, strengthening internal controls, and supporting continuous process improvement.

This position plays a key role in month-end and year-end close, financial reporting accuracy, compliance, and cross-functional collaboration. The Senior Accountant will partner with FP&A, operations, sales, and HR while remaining grounded in strong accounting principles and quality control.

Senior Accountant Position Overview

• Execute and support month-end and year-end close activities in accordance with US GAAP

• Perform detailed account reconciliations and balance sheet reviews; ensure proper account classification

• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely, well-documented manner

• The Senior Accountant will assist with financial statement preparation and audit deliverables

• Maintain sales tax compliance, including reporting and filings in coordination with external advisors

• Support variance analysis and management reporting to explain financial results

• Collaborate with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and cost center performance monitoring

• The Senior Accountant will contribute to ERP enhancements through testing, validation, and process documentation

• Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen internal controls and reporting accuracy

Qualifications of the Senior Accountant Role

• 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience

• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and general ledger accounting

• Proven experience managing month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations

• Experience with ERP systems (Dynamics or similar preferred)

• Advanced Excel skills; Power BI exposure is a plus

• High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential financial data

• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
