We are currently seeking a dynamic and highly-experienced Consulting Senior Accountant to join our team in the construction industry. This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in our financial management strategy, providing expert advice and guidance on all accounting matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction accounting (must have.) This role requires a proactive individual who can manage complex accounting tasks, provide strategic financial advice, and contribute to the overall financial health of our organization.
Responsibilities
As a Consulting Senior Accountant, your responsibilities will include:
1. Overseeing and managing all accounting activities, including month end close, Job Costing, WIP, etc.
2. Providing expert advice and guidance on all aspects of construction accounting, including cost accounting, project accounting, and financial accounting.
3. Developing and implementing effective financial strategies, policies, and procedures to improve efficiency and profitability.
4. Preparing accurate and timely financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
5. Conducting thorough financial analysis to identify trends, potential risks, and opportunities for growth.
6. Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and standards, including GAAP and IFRS.
7. Collaborating with other departments to streamline financial operations and achieve organizational objectives.
8. Assisting with the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, and tracking performance against these targets.
9. Participating in financial audits and coordinating with external auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient audit process.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you should possess the following:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role, in the construction industry.
2. Extensive experience with Job Cost and WIP accounting is a must.
3. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA or similar professional accounting certification is highly desirable.
4. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards, including GAAP and IFRS.
5. Proficiency in accounting software and other financial management tools.
6. Exceptional analytical skills, with a strong ability to interpret financial data and make strategic recommendations.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of an organization.
8. Strong organizational skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
9. A high level of integrity, with a commitment to upholding ethical accounting practices.
