Overview
Beacon Hill Financial has partnered with a client in Bethesda, MD in their search for a Senior Accountant to join their team. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial records, with a focus on general ledger activities, accounts payable oversight, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and able to independently manage accounting processes while collaborating across departments.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain the general ledger, including preparing and reviewing journal entries and resolving transactional discrepancies.
Perform and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations; investigate and resolve reconciling items.
Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Assist with financial reporting, including preparation of financial statements and variance analysis.
Oversee accounts payable and expense-related activities, including credit card reconciliations and purchase order tracking.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies.
Assist with audit preparation by providing documentation and responding to inquiries.
Identify and implement process improvements, including documentation of policies and procedures.
Collaborate cross-functionally on ad hoc projects and support business initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
CPA or progress toward certification is a plus.
Experience with Sage Intacct and Concur preferred.
Corporate accounting experience preferred with a strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-service-oriented mindset.
