Senior Accountant | Employee-Owned Company – Greater Mankato Area

Salary: $80,000 to $100,000
Location: Greater Mankato Area (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)

You’ll work closely with both the Controller and CFO, playing a critical role in financial reporting, month-end close, and process improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Maintain general ledger and perform account reconciliations
  • Prepare and support monthly and annual financial reporting
  • Maintain weekly cash forecasts and assist with cash management activities
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual bank reporting packages
  • Partner with leadership on financial reporting, analysis, and business insights
  • Support external audits and collaborate with auditors and tax advisors
  • Maintain fixed asset records and debt schedules
  • Assist with documenting and improving accounting processes and procedures
  • Contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes as needed

Qualifications

  • ~5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience (flexible for the right candidate)
  • Strong general ledger and account reconciliation experience
  • Experience owning or heavily supporting month-end close
  • Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP
  • Exposure to financial reporting and/or cash forecasting
  • Ability to operate independently in a hands-on, fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and accountability

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in transportation, logistics, or similar industries
  • ERP experience such as AS400, McLeod, or TMW
  • Background working in a small or lean team environment
