About the Company/Role
Our client is a private real estate development firm and family office based in the Pacific Northwest that manages a diverse portfolio of entities, trusts, and community-focused investments. They are seeking an accounting professional to join their team in a role that blends technical financial management with corporate governance.
In this position, you will act as a central hub for financial stewardship, working closely with executive leadership and trustees to ensure total accountability across multiple entities. Job Duties
- Generate monthly and annual financial statements, cash flow reports, and supplemental schedules for multiple entities.
- Lead the full month-end close process, including bank reconciliations, closing journals, and general ledger maintenance.
- Develop and monitor annual operating budgets for the firm and its various holdings.
- Oversee real estate-specific accounting tasks, including tenant rental invoices, monthly NNN billing, and rent increases according to lease agreements.
- Perform fixed asset management and track project costs for new construction or leasehold improvements.
- Coordinate with external CPAs to provide comprehensive workpapers and information for tax preparation.
- Maintain quarterly ownership workbooks, tax basis files, and corporate minutes for shareholders.
- Reconcile monthly treasury activities and prepare quarterly summary status reports for leadership.
- Estimate tax distributions for the firm and individual entity owners.
- Coordinate annual general liability and property insurance renewals, including rate comparisons and coverage analysis.
- Manage corporate governance documentation, ensuring all filings remain current with state regulations.
- Perform annual audits to ensure compliance with corporate governance documents and record retention policies.
- Oversee payroll processing, including benefit reimbursements, vacation tracking, and workers’ compensation documentation.
- Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including weekly coding, check generation, and credit card reconciliations in accounting software.
- Handle accounts receivable and complex intercompany billings between various entities.
- Research and prepare special financial reports and analytical requests for management as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Five or more years of progressive experience in accounting and financial statement preparation.
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks and the Microsoft 365 suite, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- High integrity with a proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality in a private office setting.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with high organization.
- Proactive and results-driven problem solver with sound professional judgment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills for interacting with trustees and shareholders.
- Proven ability to learn and master new financial technologies quickly.
- Collaborative team player who enjoys a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
- A personal interest in outdoor recreation and a balanced approach to work and life.
Wage: $38.46 - $45 an hour
