The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and respectful environment for residents, staff, and visitors within the nursing home.
Job Details:Key Responsibilities
- Monitor facility access points, visitor logs, and surveillance systems.
- Responsible for weekly/monthly inspection of specified equipment.
- Conduct regular patrols of interior and exterior areas to ensure resident safety.
- Respond promptly and professionally to incidents such as disturbances, medical emergencies, or elopement risks.
- Coordinate with nursing staff, administration, and emergency responders as needed.
- Enforce facility policies while maintaining a calm, respectful, and compassionate approach.
- Prepare incident reports, daily logs, and shift summaries.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, facility regulations, and safety protocols.
- Identify potential security risks and recommend corrective actions.
Qualifications
- Current New York State Security License.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year of security experience preferred.
- Experience in healthcare, nursing home, or residential facility security strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of emergency response, de-escalation techniques, and access control.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations.
- Basic computer skills for report writing and incident documentation.
Conclusion
The pay for this position is $29.40 per hour.
