Job Title: Scrum Master
Location: North Reading, MA (100% Onsite)
Duration: 12 Months Contract
Payrate: $50.00 to $60.00 per hour on W2.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a leader and coach, enabling teams to effectively apply Scrum and Agile principles
- Facilitate Scrum events (Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, Retrospective) to ensure they are effective, focused, and outcomedriven
- Coach teams in selforganization, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Identify, surface, and help remove teamlevel and systemic impediments, partnering with leadership where necessary
- Support the Product Owner with backlog refinement, prioritization practices, and Agile planning concepts
- Help teams apply Scrum pragmatically while preserving its core values and principles
- Foster open communication, collaboration, and constructive conflict resolution within and across teams
- Promote transparency by helping teams and stakeholders understand progress, risks, and tradeoffs
- Use qualitative feedback and delivery signals (e.g., flow, predictability, team health) to guide improvement—not as performance metrics
- Help teams progress toward higher levels of Agile and Scrum maturity over time
- Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM, or equivalent) is preferred.
- Background working closely with software engineering teams is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience is preferred.
Must Have:
- Prior experience working on or supporting an Agile/Scrum team
- Strong understanding of Scrum and Agile principles
- Working knowledge of the software development lifecycle
- Familiarity with modern engineering practices (e.g., CI/CD, APIs) sufficient to support and coach development teams
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate discussions, resolve conflict, and influence without authority
- Ability to distinguish between Scrum practices and antipatterns, and coach teams accordingly
