Scientist IV

Job Title: Scientist IV (Senior Role)

Location: Ridgefield, CT (100% Onsite – 5 Days/Week)

Duration: 1+ Year Contract

Key Requirements

Minimum 2+ years of hands-on CRISPR experience (Mandatory)

Strong background in:

Molecular Biology

qPCR

Western Blot

Cloning & Gel Electrophoresis

Proficiency in cell culture, including primary cell lines

Hands-on experience with:

Designing guide RNA (gRNA) targets

Ordering guides

Performing electroporation

Validating knockouts/knockins

Experience coordinating with CROs

Ability to train scientists in single-cell sequencing technologies

Core Responsibilities

Design and execute functional genomics assays:

CRISPR-based editing (RNP delivery, Perturb-seq)

Single-cell sequencing

Spatial transcriptomics

CITE-seq

Perform daily laboratory work including:

Cell culture

qPCR

Western blot

Prepare NGS libraries (hands-on experience required)

Conduct QC measures and maintain detailed lab documentation

Interpret experimental data and propose follow-up strategies

Contribute to writing SOPs, protocols, and technical reports

Automate data processing and reporting when applicable

Maintain high standards of scientific integrity and ethics

Required Technical Expertise

CRISPR Assays – Must have personally:

Designed guides

Performed transfections/infections

Selected edited cells

Validated gene edits

NGS – Hands-on library preparation experience

Single-Cell Technologies – Sample prep, library generation, QC

Cell Culture – Multiple cell lines, sterile techniques

Ability to manage multiple experimental workflows simultaneously

Strong troubleshooting skills in functional genomics experiments

Experience in automation (nice to have)

Strong communication and collaboration skills

Education: PhD (preferred) or Master’s with 6+ years of relevant experience
