Job Summary The Scientist III will lead the design, development, and execution of advanced functional genomics assays, including CRISPR-based editing, single-cell sequencing, and spatial transcriptomics. This role provides scientific expertise, technical guidance, and hands-on execution across multiple genomics platforms. The Scientist III ensures high-quality experimental design, contributes to automation efforts, maintains rigorous documentation, and communicates findings with clarity and scientific integrity. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and execute functional genomics assays including CRISPR editing (e.g., RNP delivery, Perturb-seq), single-cell sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, and CITE-seq • Provide technical guidance and training to research scientists on FGSL technologies and troubleshooting complex experimental issues • Document and maintain detailed laboratory records following internal policies and compliance standards • Operate and maintain laboratory instruments in collaboration with other team members • Assist with procurement of laboratory supplies, reagents, and equipment • Define and perform appropriate quality control measures for all experimental workflows • Stay up to date with relevant scientific literature and emerging methodologies in functional genomics • Interpret experimental outcomes, propose logical follow-up experiments, and suggest new avenues of investigation • Communicate scientific work clearly in written and oral formats; contribute to protocols, SOPs, and technical reports • Automate experimental processing, results reporting, and data delivery where applicable • Ensure all data is handled with integrity, accuracy, and ethical standards • Perform multiple FGS experimental techniques simultaneously as required Required Qualifications • Master’s degree from an accredited institution with 4+ years of experience in molecular biology, cell biology, or a related scientific discipline • Hands-on experience designing CRISPR guides, performing transfections/infections, selecting edited cells, and validating knockouts/knockins • Direct experience with next-generation sequencing, including hands-on library preparation • Experience with single-cell technologies including sample preparation, library generation, and QC • Proficiency in standard molecular biology techniques such as qPCR, Western blotting, cloning, and gel electrophoresis • Strong cell culture skills, including maintenance of multiple cell lines, sterile technique, and transfection methods • Ability to troubleshoot FGSL experiments independently and within a team • Demonstrated success working in multidisciplinary and collaborative scientific environments • Excellent oral and written communication skills with an emphasis on clarity, consistency, and transparency Preferred Qualifications • Experience with laboratory automation systems and automated processing workflows • Familiarity with integrating, scaling, or optimizing high-throughput genomics assays Education: Masters Degree
