Job Details

What You’ll Be Doing

Provide physical therapy services to students with autism in a K–12 educational setting, targeting gross motor development, balance, strength, and functional mobility.
Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
Conduct assessments, create therapeutic interventions, and adjust treatment plans based on student progress.
Maintain a safe, supportive, sensory‑aligned therapeutic environment that fosters regulation and engagement.
Collaborate closely with families and staff to ensure consistent communication and carryover of therapeutic strategies.
Stay current with research and evidence‑based practices related to autism spectrum disorders and pediatric physical therapy.

Skills You Need

Master’s or Doctorate in Physical Therapy
Active New York State PT license
Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum (2+ years preferred)
Strong understanding of sensory processing and behavioral regulation
Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) knowledge preferred
Ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary educational and therapeutic teams
Comfort with technology and computer‑based documentation systems
