As an SBA Business Development Officer (BDO), you’ll directly support small business growth by originating SBA 7a, SBA 504, and USDA B&I loans. Job Details

Key Responsibilities:

Originate SBA 7a, SBA 504, and USDA B&I loans per Bank policy and SBA/USDA guidelines.

Build and maintain relationships with COIs, referral sources, and clients.

Pre-screen leads for eligibility and creditworthiness.

Collaborate with analysts, loan packagers, closers, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth loan processing.

Negotiate terms acceptable to both client and bank.

Maintain a robust transaction pipeline and manage documentation.

Exercise sound judgment in loan structuring, eligibility, credit, and risk assessment.

Communicate effectively with attorneys, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

Requirements:

Strong relationship-building and “People First” orientation.

Financial analysis and cash flow lending skills.

Knowledge of SBA Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Consultative selling experience.

Understanding of banking security and safety practices.

Familiarity with federal and state banking regulations.

Preferred / Bonus Skills:

Formal bank credit training.

3–5 years of commercial lending experience.
