their careers at ABS. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SAW OPERATOR/MANUAL
MACHINIST As a Saw Operator/Manual Machinist, you work in a clean,
comfortable environment as you set up, adjust, and operate machine tools
such as saw, lathes and milling machines and machine parts to
specifications. You will load vices with raw materials and interpret
geometric dimensions and tolerances. Quality is essential as you conduct
first article and in process inspections to verify accuracy and
conformance with standards. Our machinists observe machine operations,
interpret engineering drawings, take measurements, and monitor for any
malfunctions. As a saw operator/manual machinist, you may be responsible
for performing routine preventative maintenance on the machines,
trouble-shoot malfunctions, and perform basic repairs. "Safety Always"
is our motto, which you support by monitoring equipment and materials to
ensure safe operation while following safety procedures as you work.
Responsibilities: Set up, adjust, and operate various machine tools and
cutting equipment; including lathes, milling machines, saws, and
grinders Read and interpret work orders to determine materials to be
used and the required dimensions or tolerances Inspect parts using
precision measuring equipment and report any defects Monitor raw
materials and forecast demand for standard cut length Perform
maintenance as required Maintain a safe and clean working environment
Support and comply with the company's policies Skills & Qualifications:
Complete training to become forklift certified within 30 days Read and
interpret blueprints Utilize power tools and various equipment as needed
to perform duties Knowledge of measuring equipment including
micrometers, calipers, and tape measures Lift up to 25 pounds frequently
and 50 pounds occasionally Organized and detail-oriented Effective time
management and verbal communication Education & Experience: Machining
expe ience and/or education Experience operating saw cutting equipment
and manual machines High school diploma or equivalent WORK SCHEDULE AS A
SAW OPERATOR/MANUAL MACHINIST The typical schedule for this full-time
position is Monday - Thursday from 5:00 am to 2:30 pm, and Friday from 5
