Position Overview
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Compliance & Auditing: Conduct regular inspections of the facility, machinery, and material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, conveyor systems) to ensure compliance with OSHA and company policies.
- Training & Onboarding: Develop and deliver safety training programs, including new-hire orientations, PPE usage, and specialized hazard training (e.g., HazMat, lockout/tagout).
- Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into accidents, near-misses, and injuries, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify and evaluate potential hazards in the warehouse, such as improper stacking, floor hazards, or unsafe employee behavior, and develop control measures.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain meticulous records of safety training, inspections, and incident reports.
- Safety Culture: Serve as the primary point of contact for safety, leading safety committee meetings and promoting a culture of safety among staff.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: 2–4 years of experience in safety, logistics, or warehousing.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, hazardous materials management, and material safety.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for training and reporting.
- Technology: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and documentation.
- Certifications: Required to complete an OSHA 10-hour / 30-hour certifications ( provided by HHFB )
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
This position operates primarily in an office and warehouse setting within the branches. Ability to stand and walk. Vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Occasional lifting of boxes or training materials up to 25 pounds. Comfortable working in both office and warehouse environments. With forklift traffic in the facility and product stacked and stored throughout, this position requires someone who is mobile and who can hear and watch for traffic and normal hazards of a warehouse environment.
Occasionally, this role is required to respond to organizational needs outside of normal working hours.
