This role manages the execution of Roxy's menu, oversees kitchen operations, and guides culinary staff to deliver consistently outstanding food and guest experiences. Equal parts chef and leader, this position ensures every plate reflects quality, creativity, and care.
What you bring to the table
- Make sure the space stays safe, clean, and friendly for both guests and the rest of the team; speak up and report any safety concerns to the Safety Committee.
- Schedule and coordinate back-of-house staffing to align production and service needs with budget and labor goals.
- Train, coach, and hold team members accountable for excellence in station setup, prep, recipes, plate presentation, product rotation, receiving, and daily checklists.
- Maintain and update prep lists, daily task lists, ordering guides, and inventory systems for smooth, organized operations.
- Prepare accurate purchase orders for food, beverages, chemicals, equipment, and supplies, following up with vendors to confirm timelines and deliveries.
- Track and manage product receipts, monitor par levels, and communicate discrepancies in quality or quantity to vendors.
- Partner with the Executive Chef in menu development, recipe costing, and culinary innovation to keep Roxy's fresh and competitive.
- Maintain consistent food quality, ensuring all menu items meet established standards for flavor, presentation, and timing.
- Lead with hospitality-set the tone for positive morale, address employee relations, and foster a culture of respect and teamwork.
- Manage departmental costs, track inventories, and complete transfers with accuracy and accountability.
- Provide direction on compliance with policies, sanitation standards, and safety regulations, ensuring a clean and efficient kitchen environment.
- Support team growth through performance evaluations, feedback, and targeted training that aligns with company goals.
- Step onto the line as needed, performing as a cook while balancing supervisory responsibilities to keep operations flowing.
- Collaborate with fellow departments to achieve cost-control goals, guest satisfaction benchmarks, and seamless service standards.
- Jump in where needed to support the team and keep things running smoothly. (Other duties as assigned)

- Friendly and approachable attitude that helps guests (and the team) feel welcome and cared for every day.
- Minimum three (3) years of progressive working kitchen experience; preferred one year experience at a mid-management capacity with a full-service restaurant.
- Must have supervised a minimum of five (5) people for one (1) year.
- Applicants with a culinary degree will be preferred.
- Must obtain a current Food Handler's Card and meet health, safety, and sanitation standards at all times. Serve Safe certification required or must have the ability to become certified within 90 days of employment.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and handle multiple priorities and tasks.
- Must be able to follow and provide clear verbal and written instructions to others.
- Comfortable communicating clearly and positively with both guests and teammates.
- Must pass and remain in compliance with Coquille Gaming Commission background check and drug free workplace policies.
