Position Summary:
Provides spiritual care services under general supervision to persons in the Hospital. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission and values. Provides Roman Catholic ministry to persons in St. Luke’s, Surrey Place, and St. Luke’s Rehabilitation Hospital in terms of spiritual visitation, liturgical services, and sacraments, as well as spiritual care to persons of all faith traditions.
Responsible for promoting teamwork with all members of the healthcare team. Performs all duties in a manner consistent with St. Luke’s mission and values.
Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements:
Education: Completion of undergraduate degree; Master of Divinity degree from a seminary accredited by the American Association of Theological Schools required.
Experience: Proof of ordination as priest, good standing, and endorsement to hospital ministry by the Archdiocese of St. Louis required.
Licensure: Board certification as chaplain by the National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC) or (APC) preferred, 1-4 units of CPE (Clinical Pastoral Education) preferred.
