The Ride Standards Engineering Specialist Principal will report to Executive Ride Development Engineering.
This is a full time role located in Glendale, CA.
What You Will Do:
+ Revise and update existing technical standards to align with current practices.
+ Work alongside engineers to develop content for engineering standards.
+ Maintain standards update schedule.
+ Interface with Global management for document approvals.
+ Work with project teams to identify standards that require updating off schedule.
+ Assist engineers in writing procurement documents.
+ Coordinate meetings with content developers.
+ Edit Documents produced by others for clarity, succinctness, and organization.
+ Providing policy recommendations ono “standards” that will best serve the Company’s disciplines directly affected by the published standard.
+ Collects information from Engineers and performs research on technical subject matter necessary to complete the content of a document.
+ Facilitate standards review meetings to ensure the direction of progress.
Required Qualifications and Skills
+ Strong communication skills with the ability to work with engineers and executive leaders.
+ An excellent understanding of the philosophy of standards and standardization
+ An excellent understanding in the mechanics of a specification, standard, and guideline.
+ Expert in Microsoft word with the ability to work with Excel, Visio, AutoCAD.
+ Familiar with documentation templates and automation tools.
+ Knowledge of, and expertise with industry codes and standards.
+ Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to work collaboratively within a large and diverse team environment.
+ Highly dependable, strong work ethic, with excellent time management skills.
+ Willingness to learn new things and continually improve capabilities/skills.
+ Positive and optimistic influence on team, department, and community.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
+ Previous Disney or entertainment experience, with advanced knowledge of Disney and/or Industry standards.
+ Extensive experience with life safety design/requirements.
+ Five Years Experience involving standards management in themed entertainment or related industries
Education/Experience:
As a minimum ten years working experience required.
Bachelor of Science Degree in engineering, computer science, or related field from an accredited university preferred.
The hiring range for this position in California is $95,500 to $128,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
