Rhino Designer

The minimum requirements of the structural designer position are as follows:

• 3-5 years of 3D modelling / design experience in marine design or a related field or discipline.
• Experience using Rhinoceros 3D.
• Familiarity with the elements, nomenclature, and general process of aluminum boat construction.
• Demonstrate experience in the preparation of shop assembly / production drawings.

The ideal candidate will be adept at accomplishing the following tasks:

• Hull surface fairing and lofting, working in collaboration with a naval architect.
• 3D design and lofting of vessel structures including frames, longitudinals, girders, foundations, decks, superstructures, and related outfitting components such as handrails, deck fittings, arches & masts, etc.
• 3D integration of vendor furnished equipment models into boat structural design for components like inboard and outboard engines, marine gears, waterjets, generators, etc…
• Interface with other engineering discipline project leads – electrical, mechanical, etc…
• Liase with shop floor foreman and personnel to troubleshoot and resolve issues encountered in manufacturing.
• Be able to schedule and adhere to scheduled work deadlines.
