Medford, NJ
2+ years experience in retail management, specialty food, hospitality, or small business operations. This is preferred but not required.
Hands-on mindset and comfort working on your feet in both retail and production settings
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to lead a small team with clarity, accountability, and empathy
High attention to detail and commitment to quality
Physical ability to lift 40 lbs.
Food handling or food safety experience a plus (or willingness to be trained)
Basic comfort with online tools, POS systems, and social platforms
Retail Sales & Customer Experience
Deliver exceptional customer service and create a welcoming, high-quality in-store experience
Drive retail sales through product knowledge, storytelling, merchandising, and upselling
Train, supervise, and motivate retail staff
Handle customer questions, feedback, and issue resolution
Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and visual standards
Production & Product Handling
Produce honey-based products (creamed honey, infused honey, beeswax goods) following established recipes and procedures
Maintain consistent quality, cleanliness, and food safety standards
Assist with batching, labeling, packaging, and preparation for retail, online, and wholesale orders
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency while maintaining product integrity
Inventory & Operations
Manage inventory of raw ingredients, finished goods, packaging, and supplies
Track product usage, yields, and reorder points
Receive and organize deliveries
Coordinate production timing based on retail and online demand
E-Commerce & Shipping
Fulfill and ship online orders accurately and on time
Pack products with care to ensure quality and brand presentation
Manage basic online store tasks, including inventory updates, product availability, and order flow
Communicate with customers regarding online orders as needed
Scheduling & Team Management
Create and manage weekly staff schedules
Ensure appropriate coverage for retail hours, production, and fulfillment
Train new hires and provide ongoing coaching
Lead by example with a hands-on, accountable approach
Social Media & Announcements (Light)
Create occasional social media posts and stories highlighting products, seasonal offerings, and store updates
Post simple announcements (new flavors, holidays, hours, events)
Coordinate with ownership on messaging and timing
Administrative & Reporting
Open and close the store; manage daily cash handling and POS reporting
Monitor sales performance and share insights with ownership
Support seasonal launches, promotions, and special projects
Position Overview
The Store Manager oversees daily retail operations, manages small-batch production, and supports our e-commerce business. This is a highly hands-on role that blends retail leadership, light manufacturing, inventory control, online order fulfillment, and basic digital communication. The ideal candidate enjoys variety, takes ownership, and is comfortable wearing multiple hats in a growing artisan business.
