Retail Deduction Specialist

SUMMARY
The Retail Deduction Specialist will apply proper credit approval of all invoice deductions, collection of any money due and payables pertaining to unauthorized deductions. In addition, will research client records in regard to charge-backs, deductions and collections. The starting rate for this position is $21.00/hour.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Responsible for tracking and resolving outstanding customer deductions.
- Conduct deduction research, analysis, validation, and deduction collection.
- Request backup information from customers and/or brokers.
- Reconcile deductions to Ken’s Foods budget or promotion code.
- Input lists of items, numbers or other data, e.g., customer account numbers, amounts, program codes,descriptions and accounting codes into Ken’s Foods Intranet System.
- Validate and process check requests for indirect customers in the system with appropriate promotion codes and approvals.
- Perform customer deduction audits.
- Research proof of deliveries for short/damage quantity adjustment claims.
- Process and maintain charge back invoices to carriers and customers into Ken’s Foods systems.
- Approve and maintain an accurate aging report and/or TO DO LIST in timely fashion.
- Process and send open statements to customers.
- Interact with customers, brokers and sales team to resolve outstanding deductions via email phone and/or fax.
- Provide excellent customer service to customers, brokers, and internal business partners.
- Assist Accounts Receivable team in general office work.
- Support Ken’s Receptionist.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to five months related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Intermediate or proficient knowledge in Excel, and/or another similar desktop application preferred.
- Basic computer knowledge using MS software and applications a must.
- Effective organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently.
