Job Details
ROLE OVERVIEW
Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT)
✅ WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Administer comprehensive respiratory therapy and life‑support care under physician direction
Manage ventilator care, secretion mobilization, airway maintenance, and respiratory treatments
Perform breathing assessments, mechanics, and arterial blood gas analysis
Participate in patient mobility, ambulation, and pulmonary rehabilitation efforts
Assist with bedside bronchoscopy and advanced airway procedures
Respond to emergencies as an active Code Team member, including CPR and airway management
Document all patient care accurately within the medical record
Serve as a collaborative member of the multidisciplinary care team
Support orientation and ongoing education of students and new staff
May function as Charge Therapist, coordinating respiratory care during assigned shifts
SKILLS YOU NEED
Associate of Science degree required
Bachelor’s degree in a health‑related field preferred
Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification
Active Connecticut Respiratory Care Practitioner license
Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
Strong clinical assessment and critical‑thinking skills
Ability to function effectively in high‑acuity and emergency scenarios
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
