Position Overview
At IES Residential, we are deeply committed to addressing the skilled labor shortage and developing the next generation of plumbing professionals. Our state-of-the-art education program is designed to transform motivated individuals into top-tier residential plumbing technicians.
We are seeking a Plumbing Instructor who is passionate about mentoring, teaching, and making a lasting impact on the construction industry by preparing future plumbers for success.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging classroom instruction covering essential plumbing skills, techniques, and industry knowledge
Lead hands-on training exercises and simulations to reinforce practical, real-world learning
Coordinate on-the-job training opportunities with division teams to enhance trainee experience
Track and maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and training activities
Collaborate with division managers to identify current and future training needs
Promote and enforce all company safety standards to maintain a secure learning environment
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of professional plumbing experience
Hands-on experience in single-family and multi-family construction projects
Prior teaching, training, or mentoring experience preferred
Strong communication and leadership skills
Passion for mentoring and developing future trades professionals
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods
Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
Manual dexterity to operate plumbing tools, equipment, and training materials
Ability to work in classroom, shop, and construction environments, including exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures
Visual and auditory ability to safely demonstrate techniques, observe student performance, and provide instruction
