Location: Providence, RI – Onsite with travel to offsite locations
Duration: 4-month contract – Extensions possible
Work Week: 20 hours
Pay Rate: $28.27 per hour, W-2 (Fixed Rate)
Summary
The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) requires the services of a Research Technician. The position will support the Center for Health Promotion’s Fresh Air Providence program activities.
Responsibilities
- Installing PurpleAir PAII particulate sensors.
- Maintaining senor performance through regular troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Maintain spreadsheets relating to the particulate sensors.
- Travel to offsite locations to perform installs and assessments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to keep technical records
- Proficiency using Microsoft Excel
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- English/Spanish proficiency
- Familiarity with the Rhode Island Health Equity Zones
- Ability to drive to offsite locations.
- Has reliable personal vehicle.
Education and Experience
- Education: Such as may have been gained through: graduation from a college of recognized standing in a relevant field such as, but not limited to, public health, biology, and environmental science; and
- Experience: Such as may have been gained through: employment in a responsible position in an agency involving technical support, monitoring, field work, or stakeholder engagement.
- Or, any combination of education and experience that shall be substantially equivalent to the above education and experience.
