Location:          Providence, RI – Onsite with travel to offsite locations
Duration:          4-month contract – Extensions possible
Work Week:      20 hours
Pay Rate:          $28.27 per hour, W-2 (Fixed Rate)

Summary

The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) requires the services of a Research Technician. The position will support the Center for Health Promotion’s Fresh Air Providence program activities.

Responsibilities

  • Installing PurpleAir PAII particulate sensors.
  • Maintaining senor performance through regular troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Maintain spreadsheets relating to the particulate sensors.
  • Travel to offsite locations to perform installs and assessments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to keep technical records
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • English/Spanish proficiency
  • Familiarity with the Rhode Island Health Equity Zones
  • Ability to drive to offsite locations.
  • Has reliable personal vehicle.

Education and Experience

  • Education: Such as may have been gained through: graduation from a college of recognized standing in a relevant field such as, but not limited to, public health, biology, and environmental science; and
  • Experience: Such as may have been gained through: employment in a responsible position in an agency involving technical support, monitoring, field work, or stakeholder engagement.
  • Or, any combination of education and experience that shall be substantially equivalent to the above education and experience.
